Jessica Walch

Voice Faculty; Choir & Musical Theater Director

Soprano Jessica Walch is a versatile young artist and voice teacher.  She was recently seen as Eve in the new musical Take One, Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow, and featured vocalist in Sweeney Todd.  In 2015 she was a part of Disney’s production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame at the Paper Mill Playhouse. Other performance highlights include Josephine in HMS Pinafore, Nursing Sister & Alms Sister in Suor Angelica, Edith in Pirates of Penzance, Woman 1 in Songs for a New World, and Violet Hilton in Side Show

Jessica was an Artist-in-Residence for three seasons with the professional choir Sonaré and the Continuo Arts Foundation.  For three summers she had the pleasure of taking part in the Minuetto Music Festival, where she was an Emerging Artist and Rising Star Winner. 

Jessica is an accomplished voice teacher whose students have performed in Carnegie Hall, been accepted into colleges and state and regional choirs, been cast in musicals, and successfully completed the Royal Conservatory of Music examinations.  During the 2017-2018 season she participated the Voice Teacher Mentorship Program with the National Association of Teachers of Singing, where she was mentored by pedagogical greats such as Claudia Friedlander and Mary Saunders-Barton.  Jessica specializes in both classical and musical theater vocal technique.  She is committed to teaching the foundations of correct vocal technique to all her students and giving them flexibility to sign in multiple styles. 

Jessica conducts the school’s choir, preparing them for four concerts per year.  The choir performs at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and performs with an orchestra once per season.

Jessica also runs the school’s musical theatre program, including a musical theatre class during the year and a full production of a musical during the summer.

She graduated from Montclair State University with a Master’s Degree in vocal performance, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in vocal performance from Muhlenberg College.  She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
