Dr. Guhan Peng, Piano Faculty

Dr. Guhan Peng is a pianist, opera coach, conductor, and educator known for his expressive artistry, collaborative versatility, and wide-ranging musical expertise. He has worked extensively in opera and orchestral settings, including collaborations with Eastman Opera Theatre, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and previously served as Associate Conductor of Maryland Lyric Opera. His artistic work spans repertoire from Baroque masterworks to contemporary opera.

As a performer, he has appeared at major venues including Carnegie Hall, the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Kodak Hall, and the Music Centre of Strathmore, and has participated in the Aspen Music Festival.

In addition to his performance career, Dr. Peng serves as Music Director of St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church. He has taught applied piano at the Eastman School of Music and maintains an active teaching studio, working with students of diverse ages and levels.

Dr. Peng holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music, a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory, and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music.
