Yerim Jamie Hwang

Yerim Jamie Hwang is a dedicated violinist and educator with extensive experience teaching students of all ages and levels. A native of South Korea, she began her violin studies at age three and continued her training in the United States, earning performance degrees from Baylor University and Roosevelt University. She is a certified Suzuki instructor with a strong background in both traditional and Suzuki pedagogy.
Ms. Hwang has taught at respected institutions including The Rivers School Conservatory and Wayland School of Music, where she worked with students ranging from young beginners to adult learners. Her teaching approach is both structured and flexible, tailored to each student’s developmental stage and musical goals. She emphasizes foundational technique, musical expression, and independent practice skills, guiding students through essential concepts such as tone production, phrasing, shifting, and vibrato.
Known for her clarity, patience, and musical insight, Ms. Hwang builds a supportive learning environment that encourages growth, confidence, and a deep appreciation for music.
As an active performer, she recently joined the Summit Symphony Orchestra and continues to pursue collaborative and solo opportunities. Now based in New Jersey, Ms. Hwang is excited to contribute to the region’s vibrant musical community and help the next generation of musicians thrive.
